Happily Ever After

Life is but a joke. I'm just kidding. See? We can be entertained in ways that won't make us feel bad about someone or something because this phenomena happened, that girl died, etc. Our hearts could be satisfied without seeing someone suffer as though the world had been very wicked for them. As such, that is what I want to change in the one of the most famous tragic plays of William Shakespeare, Romeo And Juliet.

As most of us know, this story ended up having Romeo and Juliet finish their own lives out of their genuine love for each other. Actually I really hate the suicide part because it tells what the truth is. Sometimes world really becomes mean to those people who are worthy to be happy. But even though it was sad we learned to embrace that fact and enjoyed the pompous literary piece.

Given a chance to alter the ending, I know that almost everyone would have it the way I would change mine. HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Because almost everyone thinks that the star-crossed lovers deserves a better fate that death and that they think or we think that justice had not been served on their existence because what happened to the both of them merely served as a lesson to their fathers and families respectively.

Friar John returned to Friar Lawrence with a very bad news. He was not able to give Romeo that letter that says her wife is still alive. Knowing all these, Friar Lawrence took a mannequin, rode a horse and it ran like an Olympic candidate making them reach the tomb half faster than the usual. He took the sleeping Juliet, replaced her body with a mannequin and they swiftly fled as though he committed the worst crime ever. What happened in Mantua however, Balthasar delivered the news to Romeo, his master, that Juliet is dead and Romeo knowing all these took some of his things, a poison which he bought from the Apothecary and ran directly into the Capulet's tomb which lies his fairest wife. Mean while, Paris just reached the tomb and before entering it, he asked his Page to leave and so they did. He placed flowers all around her lady's body and murmured some prayers. While having his last words to Juliet, Romeo came rushing, pale as though blood never circulated in his eyes and fingers. Paris was astonished by him and Romeo as well was surprised seeing Paris. Romeo then asked him to leave but he kept his feet tied on the ground saying that Juliet was engaged to him and that even death can't separate them. Hearing all these, Romeo was in rage and they just rambled there. No one wants to get cooked by the other and their sword fight was very intense: Romeo will be scarred, and then Paris and so on until Paris tripped on to Juliet's tomb and the blanket was removed revealing a figure that both left them aghast. Romeo in such dismay and weary of their fight, fell on the floor still breathtaking until at last both of them took the chance to say "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? PLAYING TRICKS WITH ME HUH, TO STEAL THE BODY OF JULIET? DAMN YOU BUT I WON'T BE BITING THE DUST!"

ROMEO: You're not the one who did that? You're not the one who stole her cold figure?
PARIS: NO! I won't do such a thing. I made myself noble not to steal the body of my fiancée. And if neither any of us stole her body, then who did?
ROMEO: I'll leave you here noble one and if you are smart enough don't dare to follow me or else, you'll be digging your own grave.
(Exits Romeo and Paris' Page entered.)
PARIS: (To his Page) Follow that Montague and if he will not surrender himself, kill him. He had gone mad. I know his the one who steal Juliet. I know he just played a trick on me.
(Exits Paris and his Page. Friar Lawrence and Juliet entered.)
FRIAR LAWRENCE: (Talking to himself) Oh for heaven's sake. Thank God's graciousness that we we're able to get in unharmed.
Juliet wakes up.
JULIET: Oh my Romeo I'm alive! Friar Lawrence you're here? Why am I not in my families' tomb? Where is my dear Romeo? Oh for the sake of love, I hope he finds his way to me. Let love light his way to where he should be. Oh how pitiful our love is. It is but only us that burns it and also you Friar. How I wish he'd come here as soon as possible or else death will take me back again to where I lied for 42 hours.
FRIAR LAWRENCE: Don't speak like that my Lady Juliet. You're still young and naive of things. The world is larger than Verona and there are a lot of place for your beauty and love.
JULIET: And that world you're talking about is the most cruel one that only talks about beauty not love, money not worth, and existence not presence. If my Romeo won't come, I'll commit the same blessing again and I would embrace God's hands to feel the love I deserved to have.
FRIAR LAWRENCE: I'm quite sure Romeo will go directly here if he finds out I replaced your body with a mannequin. Young Romeo is witty indeed to comprehend that.
JULIET: Oh time please run faster than you should for our eyes and lips to meet again and paradise be made once more. He is the only thing that is beautiful in my world. The only thing that keeps me alive, that keeps me sane.
(Enters Romeo warily and upon seeing each other, they took an embrace that almost lasted forever)
ROMEO: Oh Juliet, my Juliet. I thought you were dead. Thank God you weren't but it does not matter though because if you are, I'll follow you in heaven and there we will create the paradise we're dreaming of.
JULIET: I can't say much. I'm overwhelmed at such joy I can't even think of words.  I LOVE YOU ROMEO.
ROMEO: Words are not enough to fathom my love for you my Lady. I LOVE YOU JULIET.

After the great relief they felt, they asked for the blessing of Him from Friar Lawrence and they took off bringing the only thing they have: faith, love and hope and together they made their own family from a very far place they called their own kingdom. Having each other by their side, they lived happily ever after.

Exeunt.
